Today was a special day.
In the morning, I was told that the clinic director at North Bronx Central Hospital is resigning in two weeks. That means I have to change my meditation study to a different hospital - back to square 1.
At around 6:30PM. Walking towards my car (parked on Riverside Dr. I have a tendency to parked my car in a deserted area. Riverside Dr. and 165th street usually have many homeless people walking around.), a homeless man was sitting on a bench, very irritable, talking to himself, "fucked man, fucking my jacket is gone." As I was walked toward him, he threw his fast foods bag on a tree, stood up, and moved toward me saying - "what the fucked man." I tried to ignore him, but that was not a good idea, because suddenly, he threw 4 quick punches at my face - RIGHT HOOK, RIGHT HOOK, LEFT HOOK, and finished with a RIGHT HOOK.
Surprisingly, I was very calm (didn't even have adrenaline rush), and did :LEFT HAND BLOCK, LEFT HAND BLOCK, RIGHT HAND BLOCK (somewhat missed), and LEFT HAND BLOCK. Due to the bookbag on my back, I could not do too many moves other than standing there.
RESULTS: My glasses flied away due to partial missed right hand block. No injury of any kind.
I was able to recognize his appearance: 6' tall, black, about 190 lb. wearing a green and white jacket with a white t-shirt, and carrying a Jan Sport book bag. I called the police, described the incidence, and waited for them to arrive. When the police arrived, I sat in their car and tried to search for this black guy on the street, but no results. The police said "yo, you should of beat up of this guy man. Let me go look for him and beat the fuck out of him." I smiled and said - "Yo, he is 6' tall. I am lucky that I can block him."
CONCLUSION:
I am glad that there was no injuries. My wing-chun blocking skills was somewhat useful. I was able to be calm during the situation. I should carry my laptop with my hand instead of my shoulder. Not able to do too much when the bag was on my shoulder. Although it was an unfortunate event, it was also an interesting event, because I got to use my martial art and meditation skills on the street.

Wow!! How scary~~
However, the way you describe it is so funny!! I was laughing so hard in the office..
Anyway, I am glad that you are okay and hope that the useless policeman can catch the dude..
Very impressive. I think you should submit this to Guogu for publishing in the Chan newsletter.
Wow! Good thing that nothing happen. And very impressed that you can still keep your humor and calm after all that. Today, I got disturbed over tiny little things regarding Lao San..... hmm..... still a long way to go.
This would be the sequence if it was me:
left (hit)
right (hit)
left (hit)
right (hit).
I dont think i would be standing after that, but If i was then it would be the next sequence:
Bite his left ear
pull his right eye out.
glad you were ok.
好驚險喔! 看來我也該學點防身術~
好利害喔! 看來我也該學點防身術~
Thanks for everyone's concern.
It's funny that I parked right at the same spot the next day. Hopefully this is my last encounter.

Finally got some break from work... Sidney told me about your encounter.
You should use Street Fighter's combo moves.

The resignation... does that have anything to do with the insurance scam?
No, the resignation has nothing to do with the scam.
I think I totally forgot the more facier moves during that time, especially when I feel like I have to jump to hit his face:)
Yes, I will try to throat attack next time:)
