iBook is a better value if you mainly use it for microsoft office and net-surfing. powerBook is powerful in terms of screen resolution and speed. it's usually for graphics design (photoshop, final cut pro, flash, dreamweaver..) for me, iBook looks CUTE (because of its white acrylic cover), and powerBook looks COOL (aluminum)
i just bought a iBook last month, and i'm loving it!
1) if you want a notebook to burn DVDs - get powerbook (more powerful than iBook) 2) if you want a notebook but don't want to burn DVD's - get ibook. (cheaper) 3) if you have space and want a desktop.. get G5, it can pretty much do everything from graphic design to music composition and making DVDs. 4) if your budget is limited: get Mac Mini $499.
check www.apple.com for more details..
I use ibook for personal use, use G5 at work, and PC to fool around.
4. Mac is virus free 5. much more reliable and stable than windows operating systems 6. more trendy and less nerdy 7. user freindly 8. truely plug and play 9. all equiped with firewire ports 10. better graphic viewing than PCs
4. Mac is virus free -not, just less virus 5. much more reliable and stable than windows operating systems -It should, but not always 6. more trendy and less nerdy -I have seen plenty of computer geeks on macs 7. user freindly -only if you are unfriendly 8. truely plug and play -Not true not all items 9. all equiped with firewire ports -So does PC 10. better graphic viewing than PCs - better grapic but triple the price

from another Mac user:
It all depends on your budget and usage.

no... I am cheaper
buy me... buy me...
why bother?
If you want to surf the web, watch the movies, listen to the music and play 80+ pirate games... I am the one
buy me... buy me...
Thank you gang,
for the wonderful tips. Now I just need your help financially.
here is what you can do:
1) request an iBook from work
2) pawn your comics
3) do a fake fund raising
4) steal one from Mac store
5) rob a bank
6) buy lottery
Here are the only reasons that I have a Mac.
1. Its looks cool
2. Its I have a IPOD, and digital DV
3. I know how to use LINUX
Its cost about 30 -40% more then a PC for the same processing power. So there is no more added value. unless you are a grapic designer.
not to mention:
4. Mac is virus free
5. much more reliable and stable than windows operating systems
6. more trendy and less nerdy
7. user freindly
8. truely plug and play
9. all equiped with firewire ports
10. better graphic viewing than PCs
Steve Jobs, learn how to spell friends.
4. Mac is virus free
-not, just less virus
5. much more reliable and stable than windows operating systems
-It should, but not always
6. more trendy and less nerdy
-I have seen plenty of computer geeks on macs
7. user freindly
-only if you are unfriendly
8. truely plug and play
-Not true not all items
9. all equiped with firewire ports
-So does PC
10. better graphic viewing than PCs
- better grapic but triple the price
