Tough interview

I just got back home from a tough interview today at the New School Psych Department. It's my first choice, but also first interview (bad idea).

I have been preparing for this interview for a while. It's damn hard to get a tenure track position. The interview starts at 10 and ends at 5:00 In the morning I meet with 3 faculties one after the other(interestingly, one of them had practiced with Master Sheng-Yen before). In the noon time, I gave an 1.5f hour presentation. The title is [Silent Illumination: Theory and Practice of Mindfulness Meditation]. over 30 faculty and students asked many good and challenging questions. Afterward, I went to lunch with 4 other faculties. I don't think I remember how my food tasted. It's hard to respond to interviewers' questions and eat at the sametime. After lunch I meet up with another 2 faculties back to back. At the end of day, I lost my voice as if I sang karaoke for so long. Need some "Pon Da Hai."

By the way, this is only the first round. If they like me, there are a few more rounds with the dean, president, provost.....etc...

Since there are so many people apply for this position national-wide. the chance for me to get it is slim, but it's definitely an interesting experience to have.
