I went to Chan Center for John Crook's speech.
John Crook is a biologist and anthropologist who studied Chan and Tibetan Buddhism over 30 years.
It's really good. Very inspiring to me.
When someone really gets it, he or she can explain it in very simple way. Tonight he explains how silent illumination, Koan and Western Zen connected. He also explains what Kensho is. There is a reason that he is Sheng-Yen Master's Dharma Heir.
Highly recommended.
