I went to see this movie today, a movie about A 60-year-old in the ring against a heavyweight champ in his prime. This is the sixth and, Stallon promises, final installment about the Philadelphia street bruiser who makes good.
It is actually a lot better than I thought. The New York Times actuall gave it a decent review. During the movie, the audience was pretty quiet throughout the first half. However, when Rocky starts training with the Rocky theme music, the crowd began cheering and clapping. The last movie I saw with a lively crowd was with the matrix. The punches looks real in the movie because they were actually real punches.
Here is one example from Rocky II
One quote from this movie that is memomorable for me is about how we should try to keep getting up from life's punches and stop making excuses and blaming other people for not being who you are.
"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!"

A great quote, Rocky to the end!
Not to be privy about the ending, but from a practical stand point, how do you film a fight between a 60-year-old former champ, warts and all, and a current heavyweight champ, and film it right? If it's really as good as you said, then I think it's quite an achievement. Hmm..., may be I'll give it a try.
fantasy is an important element in a good movie. How to make an unrealistic event become realistic is a challenge. Watch it and tell me what you think.
